The First Nations Disability Program at the Southern Chiefs’ Organization (SCO) is hosting a workshop on understanding a Henson Trust in Manitoba for people living with a disability.

A Henson Trust (also known as an Absolute Discretionary Trust) is a specific type of trust designed to protect the assets of a person with a disability while ensuring they remain eligible for government benefits, such as Employment and Income Assistance or disability supports.

A representative from Wolseley Law will present about understanding a Henson Trust in Manitoba for people living with a disability. There will also be discussions about wills and powers of attorney.

Date: Wednesday, July 30

Time: 1-2 pm

Location: 1572 Dublin Avenue, Winnipeg (site is wheelchair accessible)

There will be refreshments and a door prize for in-person participants!

If you need accessible transportation to the event (within Winnipeg), please contact SCO’s First Nations Disabilities Navigator to make arrangements.

Space is limited for the in-person session, so please register early!
