“I’m a true believer that the children and the youth can achieve their fullest potential … once they’re getting those resources and supports.”
A member of Cowessess First Nation, Jamie Lerat has spent a decades-long career ensuring the Indigenous voice is heard and bridges built.
Her latest endeavour is no exception as she spearheads a brand new position with the Ranch Ehrlo Society as an Indigenous advisor.
The non-profit organization started in 1966 as a single home for six boys with “complex needs.” It is now a multi-service agency delivering mental health and developmental services for individuals and families — many who are Indigenous — in southern Saskatchewan, Saskatoon and Prince Albert.
