Media Advisory: The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions President, Linda Silas, to Respond to the Council of the Federation Meeting in Vancouver

Ottawa, Ontario – July 19, 2011 – The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) President, Linda Silas will be present in Vancouver throughout the Council of the Federation Meeting in Vancouver, July 20-22, 2011.The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) is Canada’s largest nurses’ organization representing over 176,000 nurses. The CFNU has been advocating for national discussions on key health priorities, such as long-term care, pharmacare, aboriginal health and retention and recruitment of nurses. Investments in nurses have been shown to deliver a high return in health care and the CFNU would like to remind the Premiers that cutting nurses cuts care.
