Assembly of First Nations (AFN) Manitoba Regional Chief Cindy Woodhouse delivered remarks on the $23.3 billion revised final settlement agreement reached with the federal government for First Nations children and families, saying it was the “best possible” compensation. “First Nations children and families will receive long overdue acknowledgment of the harms that were inflicted upon them, allowing them to move forward on their healing journeys,” she said during Wednesday’s press conference.
